THE NEXUS LOUNGE LOVES THE 90'S

This post is dedicated to the good folks at the Nexus Lounge on 12 1st Ave and 1st St. They definitely have allot of love for the 90's! Shout out to Paul, the Manager and Jennifer, our bartendress for the night of July 12th.

The space is very cozy, with exposed brick layered walls you will definitely feel like you're in The Village. The drinks are the cheapest that you will on the L.E.S. A short commute to any of the 4 Boroughs, sorry S.I. you might have to bring you're ipod! Lol. We have a projector and a surround sound for our "Video Music Box Jam Session". We also have one of the hottest DJ's spinning on the 1's and 2's. We will make to space feel as 90's era as possible, hope that you guys will support the theme and rock some of those 90's gear.

The Don't(s) for "WE LOVE THE 90'S"

THE DON'T(S):
#1 DON'T THINK IT'S TOO MUCH TO FOLLOW THE THEME...The 90's was the era that raised you into the person you are today. That's 10 years of fashion peeps, from the acid wash to the cross colors, from the grunge to the hockey jerseys, ironic tees to even costume outfits. This is the broadest theme party you will ever attend, so don't feel that its too much to rep that decade.

#2 DON'T BE LATE... We are trying to spend as much time with you cool folks as possible, so don't cheat us of your time by trying to make a grand entrance. The more time you have to listen to the music and absorb the vibe, the more fun you will have!! We have a "Happy-Hour Special" on all drinks from 10 PM - 11 PM, in addition, we have a "Video Jam Session" with all the classic throwback videos. You can't get any better incentive to get you're ass out early than those right there.

#3 DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE MUSIC....This is a 90's party but this is also 2008. Please don't think that we trying to re-live our youth. Were paying homage to something that means allot to all of us, but also we're trying to enjoy ourselves and have fun. That means music that is popping now, last year and a couple years ago. However, their will be allot of retro music throughout the night, but it will be the ones that we all know!

#4 DON'T HESITATE TO SUGGEST SOMETHING...I would greatly appreciate all suggestions as to how to make this the best retro party that NYC has ever seen. I am open to all suggestions, comments and ideas. Please drop me a comment or a email at dextreme7@hotmail.com.

#5 DON'T HATE....Please don't be a hater! Its 2008 and their still people hating for no reason out there. Come on....we all can enjoy ourselves without the stares, the sidebars and the awkward comments! This means allot for Syn and JonnyGO, so please come out to enjoy yourself and leave all the malice intent at the doormat!

Do's & Don't's of Theme Parties

DO'S:

#1 DO YOU... Come as O.J, M.J or Ray-J. Bottom line, we all had a different styles in the 90's, so rep your style.

#2 DO COME EARLY.... This is like a house party, even though its at a lounge. So as with a house party, you're not going to show up 5 hours late, because you know all the liquor and food would be gone.

#3 DO BRING YOUR FRIENDS... We here to party like roots, rock & reggae stars so bring some cute friends and their friends. Just make sure their briefed on the "do's & don't's"

#4 DO SEND YOUR SUGGESTIONS & 90'S PICS.....We have a projector in place and some people and their embrassing styles of the 90's will be put on blasts. Let's see those pig tails, bangled earrings, acid washed denim, high top fades and many more...

#5 DO COME TO HAVE FUN!!! This is the most important of all. This is a very important day for Syn and JonnyGO. So we want them to have so much fun, and I hope you assist me in showing them the best Birthday ever!!!
